14th biennal congress of the ESHMS

Location: Hannover, Germany

Topics can range from empirical findings over theoretical questions to practical implications for prevention and health promoting. We are looking forward to interesting presentations and fruitful scientific exchange! We are very pleased to announce the following key note speakers on the congress:

A paper and poster prize will be awarded at the conference:

The ESHMS paper price 2012

The ESHMS offers financial support to 3 PhD students or postdoctoral researchers with a maximum of two years of postdoctoral experience (starting from the date of the doctoral dissertation defense) who will present a paper at the Hannover ESHMS/DGMS conference 2012.

The winner will be awarded a free registration, a 2 year membership of the ESHMS, and partial reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs (max. 300 Euros).

Eligibility: all early career scholars as defined above are welcome to submit a full paper by August 1st 2012.

The paper should be submitted electronically to the chair of the ESHMS (Piet.Bracke@UGent.be), with a short biographical note, including affiliation, on a separate sheet (max. 250 words). The writer should indicate in which panel the paper is to be presented.

The length of the paper is approximately 6000 words including references. Style should follow roughly the Social Theory and Healthinstructions ( http://www.palgrave-journals.com/sth/author_instructions.html). The language of the article is English.

Criteria for selection: the quality of the paper only.

The winners will be notified before August 20th 2012.

The ESHMS 2012 poster prize

The ESHMS offers financial support to 1 PhD student or postdoctoral researcher with a maximum of two years of postdoctoral experience (starting from the date of the doctoral dissertation defense) who will present a poster as single author, or as first author in case of multiple authorship, at the Hannover ESHMS/DGMS conference 2012.

The winner will be awarded a free registration, a 2 year membership of the ESHMS, and partial reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs (max. 300 Euros).

Eligibility: all early career scholars as defined above who are present at the 2012 ESHMS/DGMS conference in Hannover.

An application for the poster prize should be submitted electronically to the chair of the ESHMS (Piet.Bracke@UGent.be), including the title of the poster and the names of the authors, a short biographical note including affiliation (of the first author in case of multiple authorship).

The language of the poster is English or German.

Criteria for selection: the quality of the poster only.

The winners will be notified at the closing session of the conference on Saturday, September 1st.
